Located on the outskirts of Wakefield near New Miller Dam the Pennine Camphill Community is a residential college for youg people with special needs. These young folk are looked after in houses set in 25 acres of land each house having a 'normal' family and several helpers. The students learn new skills such as crafts, baking, gardening and their lives are enriched by the teaching methods which are very musch orientated around nature and the environment.
The Community is close to junction 38 of the M1 and has a mainline and local railway station close by at Wakefield. Leeds-Bradford, Manchester and Robing Hood Airports are within an hour of the Community. |
